Why?
The reason we chose to help people with locked-in syndrome is simply because they are humans too and just like babies they are completely vulnerable and incomprehensible to the people around them. Rather than trying to create a high-tech device that is difficult to understand, C.F.P. is recreating an everyday family object to help those who can no longer have those experiences.
How?
The EyeWrite is meant to help people with locked-in syndrome through the simplicity of moving their pupils. Using contacts with bits of metal placed inside and glasses that will be able to detect the movement of those metals, we will be able to track and record the order in which there pupils traveled. This will enable them to write or draw out what they are attempting to communicate and us to understand the point that they would have been fighting to get across.
